So excited to announce NASSAU COMPETITION TEAM as well as SUFFOLK COMPETITION TEAM options for Long Island Fun Runners.
We are specifically looking for Jumpers, Throwers, and Hurdlers, Grades 3rd through 8th, at both sites. We will have qualified coaches and counselors in each of these events at both sites! Please spread the word!

Also new is the HALF COMMITMENT OPTION - we understand that some kids are on a middle school team or playing another sport, want some extra competitions and practices with Fun Runners, but cannot commit to everything. Please choose this option. Email if any questions.

SPRING TRAINING AND COMPETITION BLOCK - MARCH-APRIL-MAY

We are very excited to offer something more competition-based for our most serious athletes in grades 3rd-8th, who want to compete against other club teams. We have a lot of meets scheduled for the spring season, along with practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays and also some Sundays.

Competition Team Membership includes competing at the Polar Bear Meets at Chaminade and HHH HS East in January and February. So no need to register separately if you plan on doing the Competition Team this Spring.

Practices will start on Sunday March 3 at HHH HS East in Dix Hills for all Spring team members. All team members will practice together for these Sundays:
3/03, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24

After that, we will split up into the NASSAU BRANCH and SUFFOLK BRANCH of Fun Runners. Practices will be 2x per week, at Sacred Heart Academy for Nassau and at HHH HS East for Suffolk.

These are the Tuesday and Thursday dates for practices at both sites:
4/09, 4/11, 4/16, 4/18, 4/23, 4/25, 4/30, 5/02, 5/07, 5/09, 5/14, 5/16, 5/21, 5/23, 5/28, 5/30

We will have some Sunday practices scheduled during this time, based on our competition schedule.

Attached are the dates that the Competition Team will compete for Spring 2024. These dates are tentative and subject to change, as we are awaiting approval for some dates. We will seek to add some more dates as well.

Competition Team Membership for Summer 2024: June-July-August —> $350
Competition Team Membership for Fall 2024: September-October-November —> $250

Team Membership Pricing for all of 2024 —> $750. Please email if choosing this option, it will be a $250 payment through Venmo at the beginning of each season.

Siblings joining Competition Team (3rd-8th) are 25% off. Please email to make arrangements for this special pricing.

Team siblings younger than 3rd grade are welcome to race at the competitions, but must register separately for the Youth Track Program or TRACK TOTS.

Membership includes all meets and practices. Team uniform is available for purchase. Optional competition spikes may be an additional purchase also.
